Thanks for the suggestion. On the Xplor Home app, parents will no longer see the last names of children that are not theirs. Additionally, their profile photo will be censored.

Yes we would also love for the last names to be removed from the documents area for privacy for the parents. We feel that we are limited with our use of documents until this can be resolved. No issues with the first names though.

I agree Salise Arnold
Our parents love seeing other children names.
Through progressive conversations at home or in the car with their children, their child starts to repeat particular children’s names and may tell a story of playing with this child outside or completing activities within the classroom. Slowly this builds up where the family cross paths with one another and make a connection, from here parents say to there child or the other parent “ oh so this is Tom, the child you keep talking about and I see on the Xplor app” from here the parents start to slowly build up a relationship.
This feature acts as common ground or conversation starter which later develops into a friendship between the two or multiple families.
I would hate for this feature to go as I know many of our families have made friends and connections by showing each child’s name in the obs.

Hi Naomi,
In the upcoming Xplor Home app, parents will no longer see the last names of children that are not theirs. Additionally, their profile photo will be censored.

Albert - Xplor: Thanks Albert, but I would like first names removed too. I don't know why parents need to see any of the other children's names at all.
Salise Arnold
Naomi Rumph: I find as a parent being able to see the other children’s names to be a conversation starter for my son
Albert - Xplor
Naomi Rumph: Hi Naomi, as Salsie mentioned we received feedback from some parents that they still enjoy knowing the names of other children in Observations. Predominately so that they can start conversations with their children about who their friends are.
We feel that by only keeping the first name we're able to keep a balance with concerns about privacy while still giving parents enough information to have these conversations.

Albert - Xplor: Salise Arnold AR: Thanks all for your feedback. I still feel it is unnecessary, particularly as you can't even see the child's picture. Also, in the Beta app, these names are just under the heading - giving it priority over the actual content. Surely the children's learning is more important than who else is tagged in the ob?
AR
Naomi Rumph: Maybe a feature request could be "Have a tag-icon that when you press it, it displays the tagged children" so instead of them being there by default you need to do an action to reveal them?
Albert - Xplor
Naomi Rumph: Hi Naomi, I can confirm that the display of all names under the heading is a known beta issue the team is addressing. It's intended that only the children that belong to the parent account will show under the heading.

If it's not your child you won't see their last name or their picture, you will only see their first name.
