Parents being notified of children being marked absent

Parents SHOULD be notified via HOME App popup alert / phone pop up push notification if their child is marked as absent by the service / care provider. This is to support childrens safety.
Even if the family has notifications turned on for marking absent, it only goes into the HOME app under bookings but no pop up alert or notification of any kind.

Families using Home App receive a push notification if their child has been marked as absent in Playground or Office by staff.
You can toggle absence permissions on/off in Playground so that your educators can notify families when absences are marked in the app.

Training TeamThe original post specifically says this is not happening.
In addition, we don’t typically mark children absent unless specifically told they will be absent. Children can arrive at any time of day and often do. We’ve had children arrive at 3pm before. So this feature doesn’t act as a fail safe against a forgotten drop off which is what we are all asking for.

In light of the recent tragedy where a father left his child in the car could the program send a notification to the parent that a child has not yet been signed in. This could be programmed at a specific time in the morning.

They should already receive a notification if you mark the child as absent. (We also have a cut off point where we send a text to a parent if they have not arrived, to see if they are coming in)

I agree - this should 100% be a feature on Xplor.

That would be awesome, especially for separated families as well. But essential for leaving children in cars, or on the bus as has happened in other cases. Please give this your top priority as we must advocate for childrens safety

We’ve had a parent ask if this can be a feature as well. My children’s primary school sends a text. I think it would be great for Xplor to automatically send a notification at a certain time (maybe a time of the parent’s choosing if possible? We have some families who drop off at 7 and others don’t drop off regularly until 10). I think this is a great safety feature to have.
