Remove email requirement for creating contact with collection authorisation
Jeff Sun
Grandparents don't have email addresses and sometimes people just don't want to give their emails. But this should not stop family members from picking up the child, we just need to register their name, address, phone number, and verify their ID. What does having an email address have anything to do with picking up a child?

Agreed email addresses should not be required for contacts. Can I also add that this is very frustrating that this has been raised as an issue for over a year and still not actioned. When I contacted Xplor regarding this I was told to print the contact list and write them on. Unacceptable.

Xplor , is this not similar to this thread “Xplor Hub guests sign in with mobile numbers- which has
209 reactions to it”. These together are more than enough reasoning to action this in the system.

I agree. Using only a mobile number for signing in or out is sufficient and efficient. There is no need for an email address for parents and authorised nominees.
Please also improve the HOME APP log-in process as well, parents have been experiencing a lot of techinical problems when loging in the app and educators and adminstrators have to waste a lot time helping them reset the accounts. Before the transition, most parents and educators were very happy with QIKKIDS interface n features as it is user-friendly and that's what we really need anyway when it comes to technology.

Totally agree! This is so frustrating and has been a large part of my job since we transitioned in January - please can there be another way?

This has been one of the most frustrating issues since changing to Xplor from Qikkids. Previously managing contacts and assisting them to sign in/out was simple, but now we are constantly trying to assist contacts who can't seem to set up logins with Xplor (usually due to email issues). Especially if they have children at our service and are authorised to pick up other children. Mobile numbers should be enough, and contacts should be able to set up their login on the iPad as Qikkids allows. We have had to start a paper register as so many were not able to sign out. This never happened with Qikkids.

M-OSHC: We found the exact same when we changed over. The email address was the biggest issue. When I raised it with Xplor, I was told that "is just how it is". For a company that also owns QK, they really need to listen to this feedback instead of purely developing Xplor.

M-OSHC Agreed. This is almost coming to the point of being an Xplor deal breaker for us. It is driving families & Adminstrators crazy, and every cetnre says the same thing. Qikkids never required this and contacts could set their own pin at the kiosk simply using their phone number, without the need for email.

Agreed, I spend a lot of time following up for email addresses, we don't need them. Looks like it was part of a system upgrade, but unfortunately not an improved 'upgrade'

Agreed. this is causing a huge amount of issues for us with parents/guardians/contacts just refusing to use the system now because they don't have 'access'. It is just one extra hurdle in getting families on board with new systems.

Agreed, this has caused problems at our service due to many grandparents not having emails and parents having to generate something just for this purpose. Mobile numbers are enough for us.

Agreed - would love this requirement to be removed
